NOTES
1. No reduction of heater voltage is required at any value of mean input power. For optimum performance
a value within the specified ratings must be maintained.
The magnetron heater must be protected against arcing by the use of a minimum capacitance of 4000 pF
shunted across the heater directly at the input terminals; in some cases a capacitance as high as 2 mF
may be necessary depending on the equipment design. For further details see the Magnetron Preamble.
2. For ambient temperatures above 0℃. For ambient temperatures between 0 and -55℃, cathode pre-
heating time is 45 seconds minimum.
OUTLINE DIMENSIONS
OUTLINE NOTE
1. Anode temperature measured at this point.
2. Recommended direction of cooling air flow.
3. Reference plane B passes throught the centres of two mounting plate hole as shown and is
perpendicular to plane A.
4. Reference plane C intersects plane B at the centres of the mounting plate hole as shown and is
perpendicular to plane A and B.
5. With surface A resting on a flat surface plate, a feeler gauge 0.020 inch (0.51mm) thick and
0.125 inch (3.18mm) wide will not enter more than 0.125 inch (3.18mm) at any point.
6. Holes will lie within 0.005 inch (0.127mm) of indicated centres: a cylinder 0.330 inch (8.38mm)
diameter, centred in holes shown, will clear the side of the magnet.
7. The centre of this hole will be within 0.004 inch (0.102mm) of reference plane C.
8. Holes will lie within 0.015 inch (0.38mm) of indicated centres.
9. The position of the waveguide hole is not specified on this drawing since Tubes are tested and
used into coupler IEC URB100. 10. The axis of the filament lead protector will be within 5℃ of a
normal to Reference plane C.
11. The heater lead protector should not be used to support any cap fitting.
This protector is a detachable sleeve of a non-conducting material.
12. The clearance between the inside surface of the protector and the 0.375 Inch (9.53mm) diameter
cylindrical surface of the standard single contact miniature lamp base will not be less than 0.157 inch
(3.99mm).
